Meet the Band
Meet "Stevie and Friends" - a tribute band that passionately celebrates the music of Stevie Nicks, including her iconic solo work and collaborations with other artists. Led by their stunning lead vocalist, who bears an uncanny resemblance to the legendary Fleetwood Mac singer, they truly capture the essence of Stevie's unique voice and songwriting style.
Formed in 2015, Stevie and Friends has been driven by their love for Stevie's music. With a lineup of talented musicians and a diverse repertoire that spans Stevie’s solo career, Fleetwood Mac hits, and memorable collaborations, they deliver an exciting tribute experience that fans won't want to miss.
Our Stevie, Claudette Rodrigues
Lead vocalist Claudette Rodrigues embodies Stevie's signature style with her flowing hair, bohemian wardrobe, and captivating stage presence. From "Edge of Seventeen" to "Landslide," she delivers each song with passion and authenticity, effectively transporting audiences back to the height of Stevie's career.
Keyboardist/vocalist Tony Rodrigues
Tony Rodrigues is an accomplished multi-keyboardist and vocalist who energizes the band's sound with his unique blend of texture and polish, showcasing his obsession with sonic accuracy and musicianship. As a veteran player with decades of experience in tribute bands, progressive rock projects, and cover bands across Victoria and the San Francisco Bay Area, Tony’s dynamic onstage energy and commitment to entertaining the audience truly make the band shine. Whether he is expertly re-creating a Motown horn section, a symphony orchestra, a powerful Hammond organ, or delicate piano interludes, Tony masterfully captures the sonic fingerprint and musical nuances of every song. His incredible vocal range spans a variety of artists, covering iconic names from Tom Petty to Steve Perry and Bryan Adams.
Guitarist/Vocalist Tom Lang
Tom is our resident mad scientist and guitar guru. Besides being one of BC’s most accomplished guitar players, he has spent many years working in the audio electronics industry, helping to design state-of-the-art recording studio equipment that is currently in use in studios and on stages around the world. By night, he transforms into a guitar virtuoso, having played in bands throughout his life. In his younger years, he toured with Australian legend Jimmy Barnes, including multiple opening spots with ZZ Top during their Australian tour. More recently, he was recruited by Sting and The Police to provide specialized audio processing equipment for their legendary 2007-2008 reunion tour. Tom spent two weeks with the band in Vancouver as they rehearsed for the show before heading out on their world-wide tour. Tom plays both electric and acoustic guitar, and he also excels at the fiddle! His vocal talents span a wide range of artists, covering everyone from Lindsay Buckingham to Stevie Wonder and Paul Simon.
Bassist/vocalist Les Weiss
Les started taking piano lessons at age 5 and has been involved in music in various capacities ever since. He achieved his certificates from the Royal Conservatory of Canada and then went on to study arrangement while playing in the Cosmopolitan Orchestra of Edmonton under the direction of Tommy Banks.
This experience led him to apply his musical knowledge to other instruments, and he is now proficient in many as well as being an accomplished singer and songwriter. After completing a year of post-secondary education, he hit the road and toured extensively across Canada and parts of the US and UK with various bands for 7 years. Upon returning to Edmonton, he recorded an album with the country rock band One Horse Blue, collaborating with Texas producer Howard Steele, which allowed him to absorb valuable recording techniques. Eventually, he partnered with others to form M&M Recorders, where he produced many artists and radio programs.
Les plays multiple instruments and produced a CD for local blues musician Cal Bachelor, performing at notable events such as the Victoria Blues Bash and the Victoria Jazz and Folk Festivals.
Les’s vocal range impressively covers artists from Don Henley to Bob Seger to Huey Lewis.
Drums/percussionist Geoff Bate
As the ‘heartbeat’ of the band and the rhythm of the dance floor, Geoff has been providing a solid backbeat for bands across western Canada for decades. A professional musician since age 14, his earliest bands saw him performing in bars in Edmonton at just 16, requiring special permission from the Musicians’ Union. He has remained active in bands ever since, including tours of various clubs across western Canada. In 1983, he moved to Victoria and has been keeping the beat for local audiences ever since. Geoff is also the founder of Imagine Words and Music Inc., one of Canada’s busiest audio production studios. You can hear their work daily on local Victoria radio and TV, including jingles for Capital Iron, The Finishing Store, Galaxy Motors, and many more.
